Goodbye

Beach under moonlight...

One of my last shots with my Leica M9, hence the title.

I traded in my M9 (when it was in Germany for repair), tired of the sensor problems (ready for its third new sensor in barely 5 years) for an all mechanical Leica M-A. In the end - despite me loving the whole process of film and an analogue camera - it was not a success. Someday I might write a bit more about the reasons why. Eventually I settled on the Leica M-D. Similar feel, no LCD screen, but digital. It's the camera I'm still using today (year of writing: 2022).

I do feel this photo captures some of the awesome qualities of the M9 and the Summilux 50mm (I guess the lens should get most of the credit for this painting like night shot)...
