Second impressions
On a crowded market in Bangkok...
It was a trip I didn't really enjoy. The location I had picked in the city turned out to be inconvenient, the month of the year was wrong, and the city too crowded...

I had travelled to Bangkok before (in 2005), but first impressions can be deceiving (I really enjoyed it the first time around).
This time it was just too hot (I think we were around 38 degrees Celcius during the day) and my mood was reflected in the photography (as it always does): I came back to Malaysia with not one good shot of this trip. The snippet photo shown here (nothing special) was the best one I could find.
After this failed trip to Bangkok I went back to Thailand one more time, only to be disappointed somewhat again (a trip to Phuket, really not my cup of tea, but at least I made better photos). So I'm left with a bit of apprehension when it comes to Thailand (time of writing 2022).
Mind you, nothing wrong with the people or the country... I blame mainly my own poor choices. I do think though that Thailand is too popular amongst western travellers, which makes it more difficult in cities like Bangkok, or on the islands like Phuket, to find a bit of a genuine experience.
