In one of the suburbs of Kuala Lumpur...

...
Shot with a classic 28mm lens (the re-issued Leica Summaron f/5.6), which I really like - I'm somewhat of a fan of 28mm and seem to fare better with it than 35mm - and converted to black and white with DNGMonochrome. Now I'm not necessarily a fan of high contrast black and white, but for this shot I feels it works, since it's such obvious lighting. There is a lot of detail in the crushed blacks to be had, but I like the way the darkness seems to suck you into this rather creepy alley. Mind you, these alleys are completely harmless and there's nothing creepy about (most of) them in real life. See also this snippet and this snippet for alley shots in Kuala Lumpur itself (those are usually less harmless where undesired wild life is concerned - rats and roaches).
